Vintage HvH Watchmakers Ruby POISING TOOL w/ Level in Box Watch Pocket Antique
In nice condition. Level is working, but could use some more fluid which appears to be fill-able from below, with a removable screw at the bottom. Having said that - all others of this type visually look the same as this  ( large bubble ) from what I can see.
With fitted original box.
Purpose :
"Poising Tool with Ruby Jaws. This tool is designed to "poise" balance wheels. The balance wheel is placed with it's pivots resting on the jeweled jaws of this tool. The balance is then gently disturbed, if there is a heavy spot, the balance will rotate with the "heavy spot" rotating to the bottom.
Once this area is identified, the necessary steps can be take to eliminate and thus "poise" the balance wheel. A watch with a poised balance wheel, will allow the watch to run at consistent rates in different positions. This poising tool is supplied with smooth Ruby jaws, and is supplied with a built in level. "
